This blog post has been written by one of our trainee teachers who is currently on our 2023-2024 cohort. At this point in the year, the trainees have completed their first placement and are in the midst of a two-week training block with us at KNSTE before embarking on placement 2.

I can’t believe I’m half way through the course! It feels like it has gone so quick, but at the same time I feel like I’ve being doing it forever. I have just finished my first placement, which I was sad to leave. You get so attached to the children and was beginning to feel really confident with building up my teaching time. Splitting the weeks so you have 3 days at school and then 2 at Uni works well. You can use your skills that you learn and input them into your practice. The assignments, although a bit stressful, support your underpinning knowledge. I would definitely recommend the course, and whilst busy there is a lot of support and the staff are amazing!

If you are interested in training to teach and would like to know more about what we can offer, please do get in touch. We are more than happy to answer any questions you may have. You may wish to attend one of our Open Evenings. We host these approximately every month and we offer both face-to-face or online attendance.
